BLANDFORD have been hard at work during an important week for the industry at Tattersalls' remnowned October Yearling Sale (Book 1 sale). The team, who were the third leading buyers at Keeneland earlier in September, purchased no less than 19 lots for a variety of clients at the prestigious Newmarket auction.. They were the fifth top buyer at the sale with the total of their acquisitions coming to 2,784,000gns. Among the top lots for the week was 676, a son of Galileo out of a Darshaan mare called Puce who has produced six winners from seven runners and three black type performers. The second dam is from the family of Alexandrova, Magical Romance and Golden Sword. He was knocked down to Blandford for 475,000 guineas. Lot 380 comes from a family brimming with German black-type and by the top stallion Danehill Dancer. He was successfully purchased for 350,000 guineas. 521 also takes the eye as this daughter of Cadeaux Genereux is closely related to Cherry Hinton winner, Misheer. She was brought for a client for 200,000 guineas.
