The company has established an enviable record in recent years, selecting over 80 Stakes winners since 2004, many of whom have achieved success at the very highest level with Group 1 or Grade 1 winners on three different continents.
In Europe, Blandford Bloodstock is regularly among the top buyers of yearlings, foals, mares and horses in training at Tattersalls (England), DBS (England), Goffs (Ireland), Arqana (France) and Baden-Baden (Germany). The firm is also a prominent buyer at the premier thoroughbred auctions in the United States, South Africa and Australia.
Among their best recent purchases are Classic star of 2010 Arctic Cosmos, who cost just 47,000gns at Tattersalls and won the Group 1 St Leger. Dream Ahead, bought at Doncaster Breeze-Up Sale for £36,000, ended 2010 as Joint Champion Two-Year-Old in Europe after victories in the 2010 Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville and the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket and the July Cup (Gr 1, 6f) in 2011.
The record five Group 1 successes of the legendary Champion South African filly Dancer’s Daughter and another brilliant juvenile in dual Group 1 winner Dutch Art are other golden feathers in the cap of Blandford Bloodstock, who signed for both these other stars as yearlings.
