Breeze Up Season draws to a close

It’s been another busy Breeze Up season for all the team, with everyone active at the sales over the past few weeks.  We kicked off at the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale at Ascot, where we bought three horses including a son of American first season sire, SUMMER FRONT.  Two weeks later we were on home turf at the Craven Breeze Up Sale, where we added a further three horses to our list of purchases.

Next, the bandwagon rolled on to the Goffs UK BU Sale at Doncaster where we were particularly successful, securing 10 horses including a colt by BALTIC KING out of EL MOROCCO, who has gone into training with Robert Cowell and will represent The Tigers Syndicate, comprised of a collection of the Leicester Tigers Rugby Club players and team members.  We then returned to Tattersalls for the Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale, buying a further 9 horses,  who will go to a variety of trainers including, Ed Dunlop, Archie Watson, Richard Hughes and William Haggas.

The following weekend was the Arqana Breeze Up Sale in Deauville, where the weather was not kind to us but that didn’t dampen our powder too much, with seven more horses bought for our clients.  We teamed up once again with Speriamo Bloodstock to give €280,000 for Lot 17, a MUHAARAR filly out of SUN BITTERN, and purchased two horses for the Never Say Die Syndicate.

We wound up this particular series fo sales at the inaugural Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale at Fairyhouse, a new location for breeze up horses, and also the first trip back to the sales complex in 13 years for one member of the team!  We went out with a bang, buying 11 horses and finishing up as the leading purchasers on the day, as well as purchasing the top lot through the ring – a LOPE DE VEGA colt out of LEGAL LYRIC from Norman Williamson’s Oak Tree Farm, Lot 61, for €175,000.

Overall, 43 new horses for the team to follow in the coming months, so plenty to keep up going until the next sales!
