Blandford buy Sea The Stars foal at Goffs

BLANDFORD were among the first people to snap up a Sea The Stars foal as members of his first crop were put up for auction at Goffs November Foal Sale last week.

They paid €110,000 for a colt by the Champion of 2009 who is out of a Listed winning daughter of Sadler’s Wells in Humilis. His page is full of ‘black type’ performers including Balanchine and Stage Call.

Another purchase that takes the eye is lot 635 who was knocked down to Blandford for €70,000. The daughter of Cape Cross is a half-sister to the dam of recent Group 3 winner Quest For Peace and is related to several pattern performers in France.

High Chaparral has had a terrific season courtesy of So You Think and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner Wrote and Blandford picked up a son of his for just €24,000. This racy colt is out of a Dalakhani mare from the family of Stornoway and Corporal Maddox.
