Blandford buy two at Donny

A PAIR of two-year-olds were knocked down to a member of the Blandford Bloodstock team at the Doncaster Breeze-up Sales on 20 April.

Last year Blandford purchased joint top rated two-year-old Dream Ahead for just £36,000 at the sale and he went on to win the Group 1 Prix Morny and the Middle Park Stakes.

Lot 106 was Blandford’s first buy of the day, a filly by Ad Valorem out of Lothian Lass for £15,500. Her full-sister Stamp Duty was a winner at two but there is plenty of staying blood on the page with the likes of Casual Conquest and In Time’s Eye.

Blandford had to stretch to £75,000 for lot 118, a filly by Exceed And Excel. Her dam Mosaique Beauty is a full sister to Grade 1 winner Subtle Power.
