Blandford second top buyer at foal sale
BLANDFORD Bloodstock was to the fore at Tattersalls Dececmber foal sale last week where they purchased 14 lots.
The Newmarket-based agency were the second leading buyer, spending a total of 1m 036,000gns.
Among their purchases was the third most expensive colt at the sale – Lot 1038, by Tamayuz out of Diary. Blandford went to 200,000gns for this striking individual who is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Total Gallery and Fillies’ Mile runner-up Lady Darshaan.
They also signed for the ninth most costly colt, lot 860, by Danehill Dancer who was knocked down for 160,000gns. Out of a Sadlers’ Well mare in Wedding Morn, this foal heralded from the family of Classic winners Generous and Imagine.
Blandford were the successful bidder on another well-regarded son of Danehill Dancer, lot 935, for 125,000gns. He was consigned by Airlie Stud and comes from the extremely successful Ballymacoll family that includes Hellenic, Islington and Greek Dance.
On the fillies side, there was an intriguing buy in lot 919 a filly by Nayef out of Patacake Patacake. She cost 50,000gns and is a half-sister to the top-class Freemantle and Mashaahed.
