A busy Book 1 for Blandford
BLANDFORD Bloodstock was among the leading purchasers at Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling sales this week.
They bought 24 lots for a total of 1,978,000guineas with an average of 82,000.
Lot 5 was a strapping colt by first-season sire Authorized. His page included the great Oaks winner Lady Carla and he was snapped up by Blandford for 115,000.
Blandford went to 120,000gns to secure lot 73, a filly by Dansili. She was a scopey filly out of Approach, who is also the dam of Irish Derby second Midas Touch.
Another lot to take the eye was lot 305, a colt by sire-of-the-moment Galileo. He was an easy moving colt who is out of a Rainbow Quest mare in In My Life. He cost 150,000gns.
That was also the price Blandford went to for lot 320. This son of Montjeu comes from the renowned family of Al Bahathri and Haafhd,
Blandford managed to snap up a Teofilo colt (lot 497) for just 55,000. His dam Patacake Patacake has already produced thee Stakes performers including three-time Listed winner Mashaahed.
