News from Keeneland
BLANDFORD Bloodstock were among the more active European buyers at the first week of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale.
They bought nine horses for a total of $725,000 and the most expensive lot knocked down to them was lot 80, a colt by Holy Roman Emperor who is a half brother to French Group 1 winner, Fidelite. He was brought for $200,000.
Blandford went to $160,000 to secure lot 559, a colt by Exchange Rate. His dam, Cut Short is a full sister to Daggers Drawn and comes from the family of Count Dubois and Indian Haven.
Another purchase to take the eye was lot 1262, a colt by Bernardini. This young stallion is really making his mark in Europe and his progeny include Theyskens’ Theory, the current favourite for the 1000 Guineas . He was brought for just $50,000.
