Blandford buy strikes at Hollywood Park

CONNIPTION landed a significant blow for young English trainer Simon Callaghan when successful in an allowances race at Hollywood Park on May 20.

The daughter of Danehill Dancer was purchased by Blandford Bloodstock for 130,000gns at last year’s December Sales.

Out of an unraced sister to Irish 1000 Guineas winner Trusted Partner, she was a maiden winner in England with fourth-place form in Listed company also to her name.

Purchased on behalf of an existing client of Callaghan’s, she has made a bright start to racing life in America.

This 1m race on turf saw her successful by a length and a quarter after she was held up before being produced with a telling late challenge by jockey Brice Blanc.
